If you don’t live near a Star Academy Center, we have two options available to you:

  • We conduct ABA sessions successfully via Zoom or any alternative online platform.
  • Our highly trained instructors can travel internationally to your family and work with you at home.

Star Academy strives to make it feasible for families across the African continent to have access to our world class ABA services. We have been trained by leading international experts and offer the highest standards of support. We serve families in the Seychelles, Mauritius, Rwanda and Malawi just to name a few. Our instructors are able to come to where you are based and work with your child. You would need to provide them with basic accommodation and 7 hours of work a day. Our instructors undergo extensive theory and practical training to be qualified to do ABA. Our team have continuous training throughout their employment at Star Academy with International Board Certified Behaviour Analysts. You will be part of the interviewing process to see who will be the best fit for your family. Our staff love to travel and are even more passionate about delivering quality education programs to children around the globe.

Training of caregivers

Through the Zoom platform, we are able to successfully train your child’s caregiver. We will customise a goal directed program to secure your child’s skill acquisition remotely. When in persons sessions are not always possible, we can rely on the Zoom platform to direct the caregivers on how to draw on the principles of ABA to target skills such as toilet training, feeding, language and communication, social skills and more.

Our ABA trained instructors will log onto Zoom daily to direct the sessions. In addition, the case manager will rely on the Skills Developmental Curriculum to remotely manage your child’s progress and rate of skill acquisition. No matter where on the spectrum your child presents, it is worth trying the Zoom platform to determine if your child could benefit.

What is Applied Behaviour Analysis?

ABA is endorsed by the American Academy of Paediatrics and the US Surgeon General. It is regarded as a medical necessity and a scientific and evidence -based treatment for autism. The methodology has been time-tested and proven to be successful throughout the lifetime of individuals with autism.

Many studies have established that intensive ABA can improve outcomes for many children on the spectrum. “Intensive” and “long term” refer to programs that provide 25 to 40 hours a week of ABA for more than 1 year. These studies show gains in intellectual functioning, language development, daily living skills and social functioning.
